New York Fashion Week officially kicked off on September 4th and as usual, it marks the beginning of a month full of fashion madness that will in turn reach London, Milan and Paris. Adam Selman, Rihanna’s costume designer, showed his Spring/Summer 2015 collection today at Algus Greenspon Gallery in the West Village. In the past Selman has opted for quirky presentations but today was his first ever runway show! Rihanna attended with her stylist Mel Ottenberg. This is the first time she’s been to one of Adam’s shows – a decision which has allowed the designer to shine in his own right for the past two seasons.
Rih looked absolutely adorable in a curly updo reminiscent of her Met Gala look and a sleeveless baby doll dress with ruffled hem. The short dress is actually the plain white version of one of Selman’s Spring/Summer 2015 creations. The runway version featured brush strokes of pink and yellow. Both dresses have pearl buttons, which is representative of the pearl accents used throughout the collection. She wore Christian Louboutin‘s Impera laser-cut white pumps and her jewellery included Ana Khouri‘s Jane pearl ear cuff and Jennifer Fisher‘s XL White South Sea pearl ring with diamonds. She rocked a strand of pearls and three oversized pearl rings by Lynn Ban.
