On June 1st, Rihanna partied at Griffin night club in New York City with her best friends in tow. Rih wore a vintage leather jacket by Cockpit USA. Whitney at Cockpit USA was kind enough to share a bit of history behind this piece. The brand was originally called Avirex but was renamed in 2006. The singer’s jacket is from their 1989 collection and it was then called the Air Rescue parka because it was originally used by helicopter search and rescue crews.
It has a removable drawstring hood, which can be stored in the rear zippered pouch pocket, a nylon lining, a belted waist and a unique toggle closure system that utilises hooks. This piece was reissued in Fall 2014 as the Alpine Dispatch jacket and you can take a look at that version in the product gallery below. Rihanna was also recently spotted in another vintage jacket by the brand. Click here to visit Cockpit USA’s website to shop their current selection.
Underneath the entertainer wore Givenchy‘s studded bodysuit. The black one-piece has a deep v-neckline, a low back, rib knit trim and gold stud detail along the edges. She also donned her favourite Citizens of Humanity Premium Vintage Arley jeans in Ramone, which are high-waisted with rips in both knees and signs of distressing along the thighs and hem. Unfortunately, these jeans are sold out online. Finally, Rih rocked a pair of black suede pumps by Giuseppe Zanotti that have a simple gold-tone band across the toe. There are only a few sizes left so hurry!
Update: Her bag is vintage Chanel.
