Rihanna covers the pre-Spring 2015 music issue of i-D magazine in Céline Spring 2015 (click here to revisit that post for more details on that particular look). The editorial and cover were shot by renowned photographer Paolo Roversi and styled by Alastair McKimm. Yusef Williams crafted a few braided hairstyles while Yadim was responsible for makeup. The theme was Denim Blue so some of the best denim looks from the Fall/Winter 2014 and Spring/Summer 2015 collections were pulled for the shoot. Here’s a breakdown of what she wore.
Firstly, Rihanna looks stunning in this beauty shot that really shows off her gorgeous face and those amazing braids. Her only accessories are a silver ear cuff and Chris Habana‘s Single Pearl Septum cuff. This piece of jewellery is made of polished sterling silver and bears a white freshwater pearl. It’s perfect for people like Rihanna who don’t have a septum piercing since it stays in place with a gentle squeeze.

Next the Barbadian beauty posed in that same septum cuff from Chris Habana and jeans by menswear designer Martine Rose. The light-wash pant fits perfectly with the editorial’s theme. The baggy jeans stay in place thanks to an interior belt that fits closely to the body and it also creates that slight paper bag effect at the waist. Check out this image for a closer look at the waist of the jeans to understand how it works. You can also take a look at the designer’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection of which Rihanna is a huge fan judging by the fact that she’s worn a denim jacket, a faux fur coat and a hoodie from the same collection.
In the above photo, the singer sits back in a head-to-toe look from MM6 Maison Martin Margiela‘s Spring/Summer 2015 collection, which included a lot of denim. Rihanna is wearing the long cotton denim jacket from Look 9 and the cuffed jeans from Look 3. The 90s are back and the shoes in this collection remind me of the gravity-defying flatform sandals of the late 90s. The MM6 sandals on Rih have a white platform atop a thick white sole, padded faux-leather ankle straps and a black PVC toe strap.

Rih also rocks an oversized denim jacket and jeans from Matthew Dolan‘s Spring/Summer 2015 collection, which served as his graduate collection from Parson’s. The snap button jacket fits more like a coat because of its exaggerated proportions. You may recognise it since the singer has been seen out and about in it. Dolan recently revealed in an interview that Rihanna fell in love with the jacket during the photo shoot and he happily let her keep it. Unfortunately, his collection is not for sale yet.
Finally, we have Rihanna is some more menswear. I’ve had my eye on Craig Green since his Spring/Summer 2015 collection debuted so it’s great to see her in pieces from that collection. Rih is wearing Look 20 which comprised a blue denim jacket and matching side tie wide leg pants. Both items have black ties that keep them closed. Her shoes are Christian Louboutin‘s black sude Mea Culpa pumps, which have a high heel and a high rise that wraps around the ankle. Her accesories include a vintage Chanel cuff from Lynn Ban.
