Tonight Rihanna headlined the NCAA’s March Madness Music Festival in Indiana. The singer performed a selection of her most well-known hits and three songs from the as-yet-unnamed new album – FourFiveSeconds, Bitch Better Have My Money and American Oxygen. Her stylist Mel Ottenberg chose a few vintage pieces and mixed them with fabulous faux fur fresh off the runway.
Firstly, Rih began her set in a crystal-embellished blue fur jacket with red accents from Kye‘s Fall/Winter 2015 collection [Look 26]. This was a stand out piece from that collection and I was excited to see her in it. Last December she channelled Smurfette in another blue jacket from the Korean brand’s Fall 2014 collection. Her red pants are vintage AXO Sport Motocross pants.
After a few songs she took off the jacket to reveal a hoodie from the Puma x ALIFE collaboration. The A.R.C hoodie features a red diamond pattern down one sleeve and black text on the back. The hoodie is actually a pullover but it was cut down the front for this performance. She debuted this hooded sweatshirt earlier this year. Her black and white sneakers are also by Puma. These are the Suede Classic in black/white. We also got a better look at her top, which is a vintage t-shirt sourced from Chapel NYC. The band on the tee is The Cramps, a punk band that got its start in the 1970s. Her jewellery is by Neil Lane.
Near the end of the show, the Bajan superstar donned a purple fur coat from Marques’Almeida‘s Fall 2015 collection [Look 20]. The coat features a ripped sleeve, which fits with their deconstructed aesthetic, as well as an asymmetrical front zip closure and hemline.
