Another day, another magazine cover! Rihanna is one of three cover girls for AnOther magazine’s Spring/Summer 2015 issue. The issue is a special tribute to the late, great Alexander McQueen who passed away five years ago and as such the clothes in the issue are all from McQueen collections. The issue explores the brand’s past and its future. Rihanna’s cover was shot in Paris by photography duo Inez & Vinoodh, who recently filmed the FourFiveSeconds video, and styled by Katy England.
On the cover, Rihanna is wearing a mask similar to those included in Alexander McQueen’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection. The glossy, handcrafted masks were made by legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath and you can take a closer look at one here.
In this shot from the editorial Rihanna is wearing a custom-made bodice, pinstripe trousers and a Grand military coat by Sarah Burton, who is the current Creative Director at McQueen. She was Lee McQueen’s friend and worked closely with him for many years and was the obvious choice to take over after his death.
Here Rihanna wears the same McQueen mask with custom suspenders by Katy England Studio and leather briefs from Agent Provocateur‘s archives. The shoes are Christian Louboutin‘s Confusa patent leather pumps ($1,195).
Next Rihanna poses in a pinstripe and animal print short suit from Comme des Garçons‘ Spring 2015 menswear collection [Look 1] and leather Chopine shoes from Givenchy Couture‘s Fall 1997 collection, which were designed by Alexander McQueen who was the creative director at that time. Laced around her legs is grosgrain ribbon by VV Rouleaux (worn throughout).
Rihanna does her signature pose in a wool cap and dungarees from Yohji Yamamoto‘s Spring/Summer 2015 collections [Look 40]. Again she wears Givenchy Couture shoes.
