Rihanna on Lui magazineRihanna is the cover girl for the newest issue of Lui, a French men’s magazine. She was styled by her longtime stylist and friend Mel Ottenberg and the photos were shot by Mario Sorrenti, who has worked with the pop star on numerous occasions including shoots for GQ, V magazine and Rihanna for River Island. Rihanna was inspired by a vintage Lui magazine cover from 1972 (click here to check it out) and wanted to recreate the photo in her own fresh way. I usually don’t post men’s magazines since there’s never much fashion involved but I do love this shoot so here we go. (Please note that the following photos contain nudity.)

Rihanna covers Lui magazine in a Kenzo hat, Jennifer Fisher body chain and Jacquie Aiche finger braceletOn the cover Rihanna wears a denim bucket hat by Kenzo, a delicate gold body chain by Jennifer Fisher as well as a diamond finger bracelet by Jacquie Aiche and earrings by Neil Lane that are worn throughout the shoot. You can also spot the Christian Dior logo rings that she posted on Instagram several weeks ago.

Why does her skin look so pale where she isn’t “tanned”? Nothing wrong with pale, tanned or dark skin… I just always thought Rihanna’s complexion was olive, but she looks quite pale where the tan lines are. So its either makeup, or she just tans very easily and her skin always looks darker than it naturally is. So confusing. These pictures are not flattering for her at all either.

    • The exaggerated tan lines were created on purpose for the shoot. That’s the look Rihanna and her team were going for and I think it worked well.
