Rihanna At The 55th Annual Grammy Awards

Rihanna was definitely one of the best dressed women at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards! The singer was all smiles as she hit up the red carpet thanks in part to We Found Love winning Best Short Form Video during the pre-show. Her ombré locks were styled by longtime hairstylist Ursula Stephen and her soft sparkly shadow and pretty red pout (MAC’s Cherry Red liner, Ruby Woo and a touch of Lady Danger) were compliments of makeup artist Mylah Morales. Manicurist Kimmie Kyees kept the red going on Rih’s nails by using a combination of Red Carpet Manicure‘s Red Carpet Reddy and Ooo La Liscious gel polishes.

Stylist Mel Ottenberg helped Rihanna choose a beautiful red gown from legendary designer Azzedine Alaïa for the red carpet. As you know, Rihanna was one of the first to wear his Spring/Summer 2013 collection. This time he provided the singer with a custom dress with sheer panels and wrap detail that criss-crossed in the back. According to Rihanna, “He sent me a few dresses that he worked on. This one was just stunning.” Red ankle-strap sandals by Manolo Blahnik completed the red theme and she accessorised with several pieces of diamond jewellery by Neil Lane worth $2 million.

Rihanna peformed twice during the awards ceremony. First she hit the stage to perform her latest single, “Stay”, with the song’s writer Mikky Ekko. Rih gave an emotionally charged performance while wearing a black vintage dress by Azzedine Alaïa from the 1980s. In true Alaïa style, the body-hugging dress is sexy despite it’s simplicity. More jewels from Neil Lane finished the look.

Fans received another treat when Rihanna performed with music icon Sting, Bruno Mars, Damien “Junior Gong” Marley and Ziggy Marley for a Bob Marley tribute. Any Rihanna fan knows that Bob Marley is one of her idols so it must have been a truly amazing experience for her to be part of this tribute. Mel decked out Rihanna in a spaghetti strap top and ankle-length skirt by Italian designer Luciano Soprani. Even though the sequined pieces are from the 90s they fit right in with one of 2013’s biggest trends – stripes! Matching Manolo Blahnik sandals, some Neil Lane jewellery and rings by Jennifer Fisher completed this look.
