Rihanna covers the May 2020 issue of British Vogue. She last appeared in the magazin in 2018. This issue marks the first time a durag is on the cover of the prestigious fashion magazine. Editor-in-Chief Edward Enninful styled the shoot while Steven Klein photographed the editorial. Yusef Williams and Naphia White worked on hair, Isamaya Ffrench did makeup and used a custom template done by tattoo artist Reverend Dr Leaf. Maria Salandra worked on nails.
There are actually two covers for the May issue, one for the newsstand and one for subscribers. On this cover Rihanna wears a jacket from Maison Margiela‘s Spring 2020 couture collection [Look 44]. It has cable knit sleeves and bold white stitching.
Underneath the jacket is a lace teddy with zip front closure from Rih’s own Savage X Fenty line. Unfortunately, it was sold out at the time of writing this post. The durag she wears throughout the shoot is made-to-order by Stephen Jones Millinery.
Around her neck are several gold chains by Chrome Hearts (not pictured) and Laura Cantu‘s Rihanna necklace. Get the spiked lariat necklace from the designer’s website for $238.
On the other cover the superstar wears a jacket, shirt and tie from Burberry‘s Spring 2020 collection [Look 37]. The feather boa is from MacCulloch & Wallis.
In this next shot the Barbadian beauty wears a jacket with contrasting collar, white shirt, print tie and velvet gloves, all from Dior‘s Fall 2020 menswear collection [Look 25].
She also wears a gold and onyx ring ($1,625) by Tom Wood and a pair of Vivienne Westwood‘s iconic rocking horse boots.
Next Rih wears a coat with a gold chain belt and backless loafers from JW Anderson‘s Fall 2020 collection [Look 21]. The red leggings are from La Perla. She also wears the same necklaces mentioned earlier.
