Rihanna has landed yet another magazine cover! She graces the July 2014 issue of Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, which is based in Dubai. The editorial was lensed by Ruven Afanador and styled by Ise White. This is undoubtedly the most stunning photo shoot she has ever done. Rihanna sports a choppy bob, a red lip and a winged eye while wearing beautiful pieces from some of the world’s top designers against a backdrop that evokes dreams of the Middle East. Throughout the shoot she donned several turbans and a veil but none of it ever detracts from her beauty. Here’s a look at what she wore.
On the cover and in this shot Rihanna is wearing an embellished dress from Dolce & Gabbana‘s Fall/Winter 2014 collection. The mini dress was part of the label’s finale, which saw a group of models strut down the runway all at once, so there are no clear shots of it. The dress is entirely covered in black beads while rectangular and oval crystals were used to create the pattern. The detail around the neckline and shoulders consists of silver petal-shaped sequins and round crystals. She is also wearing a ring by Cartier.
In this next photo, the pop star looks alluringly at the camera in a gown from Elie Saab‘s Fall/Winter 2014 collection. The emerald dress features a modest neckline and long sleeves but is sheer from the waist down. The flowing gown is also bedecked in green sequins and crystals that give the illusion of dripping down the dress.
Rihanna is friends with Alexander Wang and he’s been doing a great job at the helm of Balenciaga. Wang wanted to take fall staples and present them in a way that feels special. Here the singer wears a black shrug adorned with crystals and beads of varying sizes from Balenciaga’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection, further adding to the embellished trend that seemed to be the focus of the shoot.
Looking like a high fashion superhero, the Bajan superstar rocks a fluid grey dress with a deep v-neck and matching cape from Ralph Lauren‘s Fall/Winter 2014 collection. The dress in it’s minimalism is representative of American sportswear and the style we’ve come to expect of the designer. In case you didn’t know, Rihanna also wore Ralph Lauren for her last Harper’s Bazaar photo shoot. In the August 2012 issue of the US version of the mag, Rih wore a gold gown from the designer’s Fall 2012 collection. Click here to revisit that post.
In the above image Rihanna looks absolutely gorgeous in couture from Atelier Versace‘s Spring 2014 collection. The look comprised a sequined hood, a crazy-embellished floor-length dress and the most insanely good cropped leather jacket. Quintessential Versace!
Even with her face covered Rihanna is mesmerizing in a one-of-a-kind couture gown designed by Michael Cinco. The Dubai-based designer is well-known for his exquisite wedding gowns but his incredible couture dresses have been worn by celebrities like Sofia Vergara, Paloma Faith and Christina Aguilera.
Here’s a closer look at the truly luxurious gown. The floor-length dress is fully-sequined and features an attached hood and built-in fingerless gloves. The sparkly dress is apt for the “cover up in style” theme of the shoot but the dress still exudes sexiness thanks to its curve-hugging design. Visit Michael Cinco’s official website for more information about the Filipino designer. Rihanna’s mask was designed by Bradley Douglas Jordan of Couture Mask. It is a full sequin floral face covering atop sheer fabric with a cinch tie enclosure. Click here for a closer look.
And finally, there is this lovevly photo of Rihanna wearing Chagoury Fall/Winter 2014 couture. Gilbert A. Chagoury is a Lebanese designer who was raised in Paris and his creations have been spotted on Katy Perry and Eva Longoria.
This Chagoury couture look comprised a bustier gown with glittering gold detail, lace pants and a cage. You can see the amazing detail on this dress up close in the behind-the-scenes video here.
Everyone is raving about this photo shoot. What’s your favourite photo?
