Rihanna covers the latest issue of NME, which is now a free magazine distributed every Friday throughout the UK. In the accompanying interview (her first in-depth interview for some time) she talks about her risk-taking attitude, her upcoming album and whether she would join Taylor Swift’s squad. Click here to check it out. The photo shoot was done in Los Angeles by Matthew Salacuse with hair by Yusef Williams and makeup by Mylah Morales. Her creative directors Ciarra Pardo and Jahleel Weaver were also on set. Rih was styled by Matthew Dolan, the young designer behind that incredible oversized denim jacket that she adores so much as well as those camo pieces that she incorporated into many of her summer outfits. Here’s a quick look at what she wore.
On the cover Rihanna rocks a custom “Free” t-shirt designed by Matthew Dolan that serves to advertise the magazine’s new price as well as show off a bit of the singer’s spirit. In the editorial she wears a custom tank bearing the same slogan along with an oversized denim jacket from the emerging designer’s new Spring/Summer 2016 collection. Her jewellery includes a pavé diamond trilogy ear cuff by Lynn Ban.
Next the Barbadian entertainer plays with bubble gum while rocking a grey oversized polo shirt from Dolan’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection [Look 1]. It has all the exaggerated details that we’ve come to associate with Dolan’s design aesthetic.
