On Saturday night Rihanna went to a recording studio in New York with her assistant Jennifer and best friend Leandra. If you saw Rih’s Snapchat story then you know the singer stopped recording for a moment to celebrate the anniversary of her first single Pon de Replay. May 24th officially marked her 10th year in the music business and fans took to social media to honour the momentous occasion. Just take a look at the hashtag #10YearsofRihanna on Twitter or Instagram to see some of the touching tributes. But let’s discuss what she wore on Saturday.
Rihanna turned up at the studio in a grey tee from French brand no/one Paris. The brand started in 2012 and specialises in sweatshirts, tees, and hats featuring bold graphics for both men and women. This top Rih wore is the Belleville Hills t-shirt, which is a simple grey crew neck tee with short sleeves with a varsity-inspired font on the front. She paired the top with a denim skirt by Marques’Almeida, who just won the prestigious LVMH prize for 2015. The 5-pocket mini skirt features the brand’s signature fraying at the waist and hem and it is also slightly longer in the back thanks to the asymmetrical design. This skirt was released a few years ago so it’s no longer available to purchase.
Her suede over-the-knee boots are Chanel and they have the interlocking Cs logo at the heel. The Barbadian songstress accessorised with her favourite Christian Dior Diorama handbag, which has a tuck lock closure and an adjustable chain and leather shoulder strap. The flap features a quilted pattern and embroidery. The handbag was autographed by Raf Simons who is Dior’s creative director. One of her nameplate necklaces is from MALA by Patty Rodriguez. It’s the gold "Ride or Die" necklace that she has been wearing for the past week and you can purchase it below.
