Rihanna covers the April issue of British Vogue and the interview is about her new collaboration with shoe master Manolo Blahnik. Click here to check out the previous post about the announcement. The cover and editorial were styled by Kate Phelan and photographed by Craig McDean. Yusef Williams worked on hair, Stéphane Marais did makeup and Jenny Longworth did nails. Here’s a look at what Rihanna wore.
On the cover and in the photo at the top of this post Rihanna rocked a Christian Dior Spring/Summer 2016 jacket [Look 16]. The jacket boasts flower and leaf embellishment. The white hat was designed by Piers Atkinson and features crystals along the band. This exact hat isn’t available but you can purchase a similar hat from the designer’s website.
Here Rihanna and Mr. Blahnik posed together in a sepia-toned shot. Rihanna wore a green playsuit from Alessandra Rich‘s Spring/Summer 2016 collection [Look 31]. The playsuit is made of sequin-embellished lace dotted with crystals. It features long sleeves, a v neckline and hidden back zip closure. The romper is available from Forward by Elyse Walker for $3,816. Her accessories included bolo tie by Harpo (shop the collection here) and a crystal shell-shaped chain bracelet (£128) by Butler & Wilson.
Rihanna looks stunning in an embroidered denim frock coat from Alexander McQueen‘s Spring/Summer 2016 collection [Look 28]. The coat has a high collar, slit detail at the waist and rough edges. You can grab a plain denim frock coat from the same collection for $2,585. The Barbadian singer has proven many times that a bra is optional and under the coat she wore nothing but a pair of white knit hot pants from Isabel Marant‘s SS16 collection [Look 3]. Only the black version of the ribbed shorts was used on the runway.
In the shot above Rihanna smoulders in pieces from Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2016 collection. She rocked Look 13’s shrunken denim jacket that is covered in a multitude of pins and patches (including a Mickey Mouse patch reminiscent of the motif used in the SS13 line) with the striped, embellished shorts from Look 32. A shrunken denim jacket with similar details is currently up on Jacobs’ site for $695. Here you also get a peek of top of the denim chap boots.
Next the songstress posed in a black velvet top from Preen by Thornton Bregazzi‘s Pre-Fall 2016 collection [Look 30] paired with a studded chainmail skirt with thigh-high split from Anthony Vaccarello Spring ’16 collection [Look 20]. Her accessories were as follows:
Rihanna sported a wide brim felt hat by Italian brand Borsalino (similar pictured) and a jewelled belt from Marc Jacobs SS16 collection. She wore a couple of vintage bracelets sourced from Beyond Retro as well as Butler & Wilson‘s snake chain bracelet (£38) and crystal shell-shaped chain bracelet (same as mentioned earlier). Both bracelets are available in silver and gold.
Finally, Rihanna relaxes in a crystal-embroidered jacket adorned with black bows from Chanel‘s Spring 2016 collection [Look 91]. The silk-satin, crystal-embellished bodysuit is from La Perla‘s Spring 2016 collection while the jeans are vintage. The entertainer-turned-designer also wore a neckerchief from ASOS and the same Marc Jacobs belt mentioned above.
The hat in her hand is Maison Michel‘s Thadee felt hat. The band is a black paisley-print bandanna. Purchase here for $630.
