Last night Rihanna performed in Santiago, Chile for an audience of 55,000. It was her first time in the South American nation so the concert was highly-anticipated. Even though she hasn’t released an album in three years, fans were still eager to see her and hear their favourite hits. Just track the hashtag #RihannenChile to see how excited they were. Mel Ottenberg was the man behind the outfit and he opted for menswear pieces for this special night. Let’s look at what Rihanna wore.
The Barbadian superstar donned a jacket from Shayne Oliver’s Hood by Air line. Two variations of this jacket were included in the Spring/Summer 2016 menswear collection [Looks 8, 20]. This is an interesting piece as the first third of it resembles your standard tuxedo jacket with a notched lapel, the next section looks like a button down shirt while the last third mimics the upper part of pants complete with pockets. It’s all held together with two zips that run the full length of the jacket. Rih was one of the first celebrity fans of Hood by Air (click here to see an outfit from 2012) so it’s nice to her in Oliver’s designs again.
Her white trousers are from Maison Margiela‘s Spring 2016 menswear collection [Look 10] and she also performed wearing a pair of Puma‘s Basket Classic sneakers. These are the same shoes she wore in Brazil for Rock In Rio. You can cop a pair for $70.
Update: Her jewellery included Jennifer Fisher‘s long link chain with a diamond stripe cone charm.
