Rihanna arrived in New York City on January 16. She was there to attend a concert with friends. She travelled in black sweats but unfortunately, a logo wasn’t visible. However, her fabulous mix of quirky jewellery and highly-coveted accessories are worth talking about. Crystal pumps at the airport!
When I first posted this jacket I told you it’s her favourite piece for this winter season. This Mastermind jacket is from the Fall/Winter 2019 collection. Made of cashmere and nylon, the zip front jacket is reversible and has multiple pockets.
On the back of the cashmere side, is the brand’s skull and crossbones logo in white. The jacket pictured here doesn’t have a hood but Rihanna’s version does.
Now let’s get into all of her Bottega Veneta pieces. Rih became a huge fan of Bottega last year after Daniel Lee became Creative Director of the label. This time she rocked the Almond pumps. The crystal-embellished, grey suede pumps feature a pointed toe and a chunky heel. Get them from Matches Fashion for $1,620.
The singer has been collecting Bottega Veneta bags of all types. She has so many of the brand’s clutches and shoulder bags that they took up all of the space in her transparent carry-on. Here’s some info on three of the bags we could see. All three are part of “The Pouch” collection. The Pouch is a large clutch with a rounded design that looks like it folds in on itself. Rih has a few different colours in crocodile leather and prices for those start at $26,800. She also has a green one featuring the intrecciato interwoven leather. Those retail for around $3,100.
So about that suitcase. It’s from Rimowa‘s collaboration with Off-White from a couple years ago. The carry-on features a clear, hard shell and black accents.
Rih also rocked a pair of large black sunglasses by Celine. The oversized, square shades have a curved brow and branding on the arms.
Jiwinaia is a new addition to the superstar’s accessories closet. She donned a pair of their drop earrings, which feature white crystals, blue and green gemstones and pearls emblazoned with the number 69. This exact pair is exclusively sold at Dover Street Market. FYI, the diamond ankh necklace (not pictured) is from Rafaello & Co.
Occasionally, Rihanna’s bodyguards carry her handbags and this time around they actually carried three of them. The woman loves a good bag!
First up is Celine’s Vertical Cabas tote. Made of the “Triomphe” canvas, the bag has two top handles, a gold padlock and a leather key cover.
She rarely travels without her beloved Dior book tote, which features the oblique monogram canvas. The blue and cream handbag is customised with her name.
Lastly, her bodyguard carried a white limited edition bowling bag from the Prada x adidas’ collab. Released in late 2019, the leather bag boasts two top handles, black piping and silver hardware. Both logos are visible on the front. The brands will release more stuff in 2020 so check their websites for updates.
