The past few days have been so busy for Rihanna but she’s still got a Grammys performance coming up tomorrow. First, she had to prep for her New York Fashion Week debut as a designer then she immediately hopped on a plane to Los Angeles for the 2016 MusiCares Person of the Year gala honouring Lionel Richie. MusiCares is a Grammy organisation that provides assistance to music people in need.
Styled by Mel Ottenberg, Rih wore a look from Marc Jacobs‘ Spring/Summer 2016 collection. Jacobs said he was inspired by days gone by with this collection and it was very Americana. Rihanna rocked Look 55 that was modelled on the runway by supermodel Adriana Lima. Take a look below. The completely sheer dress features a deep v neckline, 3/4 length sleeves, a high slit and red, white and blue daisy embroidery. We all know how Marc feels about daisies. It also boasts a sequin and motif embroidery and a raw hem. The singer completed her look with shoes from the runway. The red and white sneaker-inspired shoes have a pointed toe and Marc Jacobs branding on the tongue. The shoes aren’t available to purchase yet but you can take a look at other pieces from the Spring 2016 collection on MarcJacobs.com.
Update: Rih also rocked this amazing necklace by Irene Neuwirth. Exclusively available at Barneys for $30,220, it features rose-cut pear-shaped diamonds set in 18k rose gold. She also wore $1 million dollars worth of Harry Kotlar jewellery. These are a 10 carat diamond pear-shaped ring and a marquise ruby ring with diamonds.
Rihanna performed a cover of Lionel Richie’s song Say You, Say Me and although the event wasn’t broadcasted or streamed we still get to see her performance thanks to a few thoughtful patrons. Marc Malkin was in attendance and he posted the entire performance on his Facebook page. She sounded great! Check it out:
