Yesterday Barbados celebrated its 50th anniversary of Independence. Rihanna, the most famous person to come from the Caribbean island, attended a few of the special events. She rocked a Matthew Adams Dolan dress for a brunch with Prince Harry and attended a late night party hosted by her friends. But before that Rihanna showed up at the Mega Concert held at the historic Kensington Oval. There she sat on stage with Prince Harry and the Honourable Freundel Stuart, Barbados’ Prime Minister. Let’s take a look at what she wore.
Styled by Jahleel Weaver, the Bajan beauty donned a dress from Marni‘s Spring/Summer 2017 collection [Look 13]. The loose-fitting, off-the-shoulder dress features a tie shoulder strap, pleats, a digitized print, ruched sleeves, a thigh-high slit and rope detail. She paired it with Dsquared2‘s Riri sandals ($1,285) that were named after her. The black snakeskin shoes have ties that wrap around the ankle. Only a few sizes are left over.
Jacquie Aiche designed her earrings and rings. Rihanna wore a pair of Aiche’s pyramid baguette white opal hoop earrings along with a green toumaline petal crown ring, a rose gold raw diamond Hanalei ring and an oval signet ring. On her left hand she sported a two row blue opal oval ring, several moonstone eternity bands, a white opal brick ring and a must-have teardrop diamond tiara ring ($2,190). Update: Thanks to Aiche and her amazing team we now have photos and info on most pieces.
