On April 1st Rihanna attended BET’s annual Black Girls Rock event where she was honoured with the Rock Star Award. By all accounts the singer gave a memorable and encouraging speech that you will be able to watch when it airs on April 5th. Mel Ottenberg styled Rihanna this time around and she wore a look pulled straight from Miu Miu‘s Fall/Winter 2016 runway [Look 31].
This outfit comprised a mid-length fox fur coat, a blue button down shirt, white shorts and crystal-embellished black pumps. Rihanna carried Dolce & Gabbana‘s Miss Dea lace clutch. This version of the bag is adorned with white pearls as well as crystals and jewels in various sizes and shapes. The clasp is also embellished with jewels and it comes with a chain handle that can be tucked inside.
Rihanna took a simple hairdo to the next level by using Fallon‘s unreleased Monarch hair pins. How cute are these? There are three styles of the crystal and pearl-embellished hair pins that come in five colours each. Fallon designer Dana Lorenz hasn’t set a release date yet but stay tuned to their official Instagram account to find out when you’ll be able to get these for yourself.
She also rocked a custom cameo ring by Jacquie Aiche that she’s been wearing for several weeks. The cameo itself was created by Coreen Simpson, the brains behind The Black Cameo Collection, who started making her own jewellery after failing to find pieces that reflected herself. Aiche collects vintage cameos such as this and gives them new life by replacing the setting.
The Barbadian beauty’s jewellery also included a yellow sapphire and white diamond necklace by Le Vian and a pavé white diamond cocktail ring by Bavna.
Update: Rihanna also wore an antique necklace by Kentshire. The chain is antique gold while the cross pendant is also an antique that is made of rock crystal and gold.
