Rihanna is now in New York after spending some time in Detroit for Monster Tour rehearsals with Eminem. The singer was photographed at JFK airport in a black and white Pigalle snapback cap from the Spring/Summer 2014 collection and a tee from the tour’s merchandise. She announced yesterday via Twitter that the official Monster Tour merchandise was designed by British streetwear brand Trapstar. Rih has been a big fan of Trapstar for many years, opting for their ready-to-wear line of caps, sweatshirts and t-shirts as well as bespoke leather jackets.
The brand has grown tremendously in the years since this blog was created, recently partnering with Harvey Nichols on an exclusive collection and launching a flagship store. This particular collaboration with Rihanna makes a lot of sense and fans should be quite happy. This tee provides a first look at the collab and it features a graphic of a full moon with pointed ears, Rihanna’s eyes, full lips and fangs and a gold grill in the shape of an AK-47 rifle. The word Monster is printed down both sleeves and all six tour dates are printed on the back. It’ll be interesting to see what else they’ve created for the tour.
Now let’s get into the rest of Rihanna’s outfit. She paired the t-shirt with simple black jeans and her favourite Varsity Red and black Air Jordan 1 Retro sneakers. Rih carried not one but two bags last night – a black faux-leather Beckett backpack by Stella McCartney and Louis Vuitton‘s Alma BB mini bag in the Damier Ebène canvas. Her jewellery included an estate diamond necklace from Kentshire, a MALA by Patty Rodriguez Where you from? necklace that says ‘Bridgetown’ and a diamond coil ring by Lynn Ban.
Update: You can now purchase The Monster Tour longsleeved t-shirt from Rihanna’s official online store for $35.
